Wesleyan University Framework and Principles Planning

Middletown, Connecticut

E+P recently completed a Principles to Priorities master plan. This work builds on the team’s 2015-16 master plan that was centered around six goals: creating a synergistic residential and academic experience, preserving and enhancing opportunities for informal learning, improving formal learning space, creating visual and functional transparency between indoor and outdoor space, and showcase living and learning in action.

This 2023 effort was an opportunity to assess recently completed or currently underway projects, prioritize remaining or emerging initiatives, and provide options for phasing and funding.

A renovation and small addition to the Frank Building were completed in December 2023 and were an outgrowth of the 2015-16 master plan. The new spaces provide a constellation of new active learning spaces as well as informal social and study spaces.
